Who Dunnit? - 2nd Grade
Are you a super sleuth? In this group we have explored the tasks involved in being a crime scene investigator. We have used the scientific processes to try to figure out who dunnit!
Processes of an Investigator:
After learning about science words like "observe" and "hypothesis," we tested our observation skills by examining a picture and seeing how many details we could remember.
Testing our Senses:
Investigators and scientists use their senses to observe everything in a crime scene. We used our senses of sight, smell and touch to see if we could figure out what we were observing. It was a lot of fun!
No Two Alike:
We learned there are different types of fingerprint designs, like a loop and a whorl. With the help of fifth grader Jessica, we observed our own fingerprints to observe the patterns on our fingers.
Taking Fingerprints:
It was time to test our skills. We all got lotion, a glass, a paintbrush, and some hot cocoa. Then we became real scientists checking for and recording our fingerprints. The whole room smelled like cocoa!
